Holiday News: On My Christmas Holidays
Nov 6th, 2008 by Admin
A little disappointing to come back and see the increase of the workload that needs to be dealt with, but such is life.
Happy to see you had good “holidays” and there is a new member in the family.
I had one last year, but I burned it in the middle of my living room after some doofus neighbor started jumping up and down on his car hood screaming he was #1 and that my tree sucked. Those trees would kick any Christmas, holiday, Kwanza or Hannukah tree’s ass up and down every street in the nation and then back again.
No, ’tis the holiday Christmas season and good will to all men and all that. Then I eat the holiday Christmas cookies they made me. My poor neighbors talk a big game when it comes to their holiday Christmas tree, but they know they deep down there’s is nothing but a stupid, dumb doofus tree. If you’re Jewish or Muslim or whatever and don’t have or want a holiday Christmas tree then no big whoop.
If you’re happy with that doofus tree then more power to you.
This is a great way for students to practice their math skills while enjoying planning for the holidays.
I remember at the end of the day, just being worn out from all the excitement and anticipation.” It”s this sense of nostalgia, simple joy and togetherness that Smith brings to her first Christmas album, My Holiday. I think rather than a Christmas record, it”s more of a holiday record, and it can reach anybody who celebrates the holidays. “When you sit down to write a Christmas song,” Smith says, “you have to think about how you feel at Christmas, and what about the holiday season moves you.
Delicate and clear as blown glass, and tinged with a kind of blue yearning, it”s the kind of voice that communicates directly to the heart, Thus, the perfect instrument to cut through all the shiny commercial wrapping that so often obscures what”s important about the holiday season.
There was little hope of keeping all of that organized, and again, there was a feeling of frustration and chaos when the holiday season arrived. By the time I was feeling better-right about on Christmas Eve-to my sheer delight, I learned that the holiday cards were sent, all our kids had gifts under the tree, the house was decorated, and it turned out to be our most memorable Christmas ever.
A little bit of planning can work wonders. By following the forms in The Holiday Planner and discovering what was missing in our holidays, we pinpointed suggestions that were closest to the cheer and warmth he and I enjoy including food, games, even the clothes we would wear. Holiday Planner is the most complete holiday planning and organizing system available on the market. It contains over 80 pages of holiday forms, checklists, logs and information sheets to help you get organized for Christmas.
The Holiday Planner was a Godsend for us last season.
At the end of the season we left our family feeling more refreshed and loved than any holiday season we experienced in the five years we had been traveling home from out of state.
I love the holiday season, but like most people, it is a crazily busy time for our family. The holidays are meant to be fun, to be celebratory - they’re holidays, for Pete’s sake.
This is EXACTLY what I was discussing with my husband yesterday. You know the hardest thing for us this year will be traveling on a mission trip to Africa over the Thanksgiving Holiday then going to Guatemala 2 days after Christmas with our small group.
I’m really excited about this plan! I just - like three minutes ago - opened a book/planner that my wonderful mother-in-law sent for my birthday called “Simplify Your Holidays” that looks incredible and right in line with the your plan.
Traditions and life and conflicting schedules can easily steamroll a family’s good intentions to have a simple holiday season.
I need that long to whittle down my gift list for my daughter so I don’t bankrupt us!
